It just never gets old.

Still laughing at the historical bollocks.

I wonder how many people in Brython believe in this, the founding joke of their community?

Sorry? Come again? It's been made absolutely clear to you that most, even all, 'Brythons' are aware that Stefan's statement - he was not a member of CF at the time, incidentally - contains rubbish history. I was among the first to point it out publicly, and have been roundly seconded. The important part - which resonanted with the people of the Brython project - was the idea that the bedsheet brigade is a waste of time. You may feel that the whole project of modern paganism is a waste of time, in which case, fine; but it's unfair to imply that people at Brython are ignorant halfwits when they have critquely Stefan's statement strongly for precisely the same reasons that you have.

There's no obligation to play nice, but playing fair would be good.

Bo, Fog Patches does a nice line in bullshit. always has. it serves his own strange little purposes.

he knows all of this, as he has been reading all about it on CF - he knows everything that has been said and still elects to misrepresent it.

its the same tired old strategy.

Hi Fog Patches,

I find your comments interesting. You have just been welcomed into caerfeddwyd and treated as an honoured guest.

Is this how you treat our hospitality?

Besides you have not yet explained your evidence for your decalmation of the lines in Stefan's statement.

Perhaps you can quote from Posidonius's 'Histories' or Caesar's 'Gallic Wars'? I'm sure that we would be fascinated to hear your reasoning.

Bendithion,
Craig.

Yes, you did point out that you think Stefan's grasp of history is garbage. I accept that without reservation and I’m willing to accept that (Brython-1) describes the set of people in Brython who have no problem with this false history. Nobody has said anything about the rest of Brython and it looks very much as though the rejection of the term druid is only cosmetic. The difficulty , if Stefan's statement accurately represents the beliefs at the core of Brython’s leadership and imminent priesthood, is that membership is tacit agreement. As I have pointed out to Lee, the bollocks is inseparable from the rest of the statement. It’s my opinion that the membership would do well to compose their own founding principles which do not reference the past at all, which might be difficult as many people rather enjoy taking on mythic roles even if they eschew white robes but at least it will close the door on bollocks. I would further recommend that this is composed in plain English without use of any dead terms or those which don’t come immediately to the English tongue else Arabic terms may as well be employed.

You may feel that the whole project of modern paganism is a waste of time, in which case, fine

I don’t, actually, and I would balk at the term project. I’m sure that Lee would like you to think this but there is no evidence to bear this out while there is plenty to support my genuine interest. Incidentally, did you get the chance to read my introduction? Someone sent me a private message, I do not think that it was a second such from you, and then my membership was deleted. I assume it was an admin - not really the smart way to deliver a message.

What hospitality? My account is barred.

Hello, Lee. Looks like you chose the Squealer mask.

I’m sure you would like everyone and his Dogmatix to think that there are extremely intense and radical discussions happening at Brython but all I could see were discussions over the question of collective nouns and that sort of thing. Hardly inspiring.

What hospitality? My account is barred.

Being sarcastically rude about people in one arena, then rocking up at their place and lurking until said people realise that this is the chap who has been rude about them elsewhere, tends to result in ye mystick conjunction of ye boote and ye arse.

I can’t help but get genuine pleasure from your composition, Bo, whatever you have to say to me, but I have not acted in a dishonest manner. I joined the Brython forum and when asked posted an introduction explaining who I was and what I was about.

Further, I even said that I would understand if they did not wish me to remain. Never let it be said that I am an unreasonable man.

You are a reasonable man
So are they all, all reasonable men

You one of those druids, then?

I'd never admit to being one of those anything.

Actually it's a very old pic. It says where I've come from but not where I'm going. Your pic makes you look like John the Baptist. What's that supposed to convey?

By the way, if you want some context for my last comment, try Shakespeare's Julius Caesar.

Well, you don’t have to admit to it. Nobody’s forcing you.

It’s not a picture of me.

By the way, if you want some context for my last comment, try Shakespeare's Julius Caesar.

Thanks. I must learn to read sometime.
